Baby Rainbow Mermaid Tail Tutorial

I’ve had so many request from people asking where to purchase my baby mermaid tails.  The tails I use in my photos are tails I made.  So, I decided to put a tutorial together.  It is available for free on YouTube.  I will be creating more “diy” craft tutorials and photography “how to” tutorials.  Below is the list of supplies you will need to make a mermaid tail.  Approximate cost for your first tail is around $28, each additional tail should only cost about $13.

SUPPLIES NEEDED
9 – 12″x18″ Multi-Colored Foam Sheets
For A Solid Colored Tail: Craft and Party – Foam Sheet 12″X18″ 2mm, 10 SHEET (Turquoise)
1 – 2.5″ 6.35cm Round Craft Punch
Ribbon
Aleene’s 29682 All Purpose Turbo Tacky Glue, 4-Ounce
Singer Color Ball Head Pins in Flower Box, 360-Count
Ruler
Thread & Sewing Machine
Approx Cost: $28

STEPS
Step 1 – Measure Your Baby & Cut Your Tail To Fit
Step 2 – Sew Your Tail Together
Step 3 Cut Your Tail To Taper It From Wide At The Top
To Thinner A The Bottom
Step 4 – Cut And Sew On Your Ribbon Ties
Step 5 – Cut Out Your Fin
Step 6 – Sew Your Fin On
Step 7 – Cut Out Your Scales
Step 8 – Measure And Mark Where Your Scales
Go For Accuracy
Step 9 – Glue Your Scales On
Step 10 – Let It Dry For At Least A Day, Maybe Two
Step 11 – Measure, Mark And Cut The Top Of The Tail To Your Preferences
